Giving back to the St. Paul area community

The Heats On Program
The "Heats On" program supports St. Paul residents in need that can't afford to have their heating equipment serviced. Members of the Local Union, The Minnesota Mechanical Contractors Association and St. Paul Plumbing and Heating Company provide no cost assistance to get their home heating equipment operating safely and efficiently. This combined effort helps keep our neighbor's furnaces, boilers and heaters working safely and keeps those in need warm during cold Minnesota winter months.

The Waters Off Program
During 2008 "Water's Off"program, plumbers from St. Pau local unions volunteered their Saturday to help the less fortunate. These union volunteers repaired plumbing and conducted health and safety inspections for 122 low-income elderly and disabled homeowners in Minnesota.

St. Paul Plumbing and Heating started doing the Water's Off program with the Minnesota Mechanical Contractors Association in 1994. Our local program has become one of the largest Water's Off Programs in the nation covering 10 Minnesota counties.

Ingrid Hofmann, a hearing-impaired St. Paul homeowner, wasn't able to hear her running toilet and was surprised when she was told by the water department that she was using enough water for three people. During the program, union plumbers repaired her toilet and a tub. The very grateful homeowner said, "I'm on medical leave right now and I know I can't afford to pay a plumber at the moment and I'm struggling to pay my water bill. This is an absolutely fantastic program.
